un hoyo + un carro = no bueno

funny story happened today!

so someone went to the grocery store and had a car fully loaded of food - including about 12 - 15 boxes/bags of fresh fruits, veggies, and eggs. 

on the way back to CVE with the freshly bought food, they remembered they need cheese for quesadillas while driving by the taco place where we order our cheese.

so, they threw the car in reverse to parallel park. 

unfortunately they didn't see this:

a rather large random hole in the road. 

 and the car ended up looking something like this

 here's a more proper view of the hole + tire = not good.

so after trying to get out of the hole with no success (imagine that!) they tried to call CVE for help. 

only they didn't have any saldo (air time) on their phone. 

so the next option was to walk to Café Sed and get some help/use a telephone to call CVE for help. 

eventually a few guys came with a few pieces of wood, some metal sticks, and a jack to save the day!

checking out the situation. 

the first words that José said were "Muy Bien, Muy Bien" [roughly translated: nicely done, nicely done]

 after about 10 - 15 mins of trying to get the car hoisted up so the jack would fit underneath, they succeeded! then they threw the car into neutral, and pushed her right on out.

and wouldn't you know, the taco place didn't even open until 10:00 and i got stuck at 9:30! so we STILL don't have any quesadilla cheese! ;-] such is life, huh?
