so i finally got a sewing machine! whoo hoo! i found this guy in our store room 2 weeks ago. i took him up to tucson to a repair shop where he got all his bells and whistles fixed up and now he's good as gold! yay!
i think i need to name him, but i haven't sat down and thought of one yet. leave me a comment if you have an idea :-]
my awesome perfect fitting cupboard that i got at the goodwill store for a whole whopping $7.99 :-] i was pretty impressed with it... a little bit of some contact paper spruced it right up!
my first project: make a curtain to cover up all my projects and sewing stuff (there are 2 shelves behind that curtain and you will never see them hehe). it turned out exactly how i wanted it to. :-] i'm going through this huge ruffle phase right now. everything that has ruffles i love so you'll probably be seeing lots of those.
my second project: turning some old jeans into a skirt
not too shabby. i def did a few things that i'll change on the next one that i make, but that's how we learn, right?
i have several other cute little projects up my sleeve, but starting on saturday we're having 3 weeks in a row of works teams, so i probably won't have much down time to sew. we're looking forward to having lester, gridley, and (i think...) a group from washington coming in these next 3 weeks. please be prayerful for their travels and for safety as they work in the coming weeks.
